Who Is Sarah Doolittle?

Doolittle Home, located at 16 Bird Street in Foxboro, began as a boarding home 97 years ago by Sarah Doolittle for the Foxboro Straw Hat factory workers and their families. In 1915 Sarah Doolittle, a Universalist, donated her family home to the Massachusetts Universalist Congregation as a retirement home. Doolittle Home was chartered in 1915 and has been providing outstanding care for the elderly ever since.

The home is beautifully decorated with period touches. The wallpaper, furnishings and decorations all speak of a gentle elegance.  Many of the furnishings, particularly those in the parlor, are the original pieces owned by the Doolittle Family.
